About Arles Avignon
AC Arles-Avignon (also known as Athletic Club Arles-Avignon, AC Arles or Les lions) is a professional French football club which plays at the highest division of French football; Ligue 1. AC Arles-Avignon holds it home matches at the Parc des Sports stadium; a multi-purpose stadium in Avignon, France with a capacity of 7,194 spectators.
AC Arles-Avignon was founded in 1913 and played for the most of its history in national leagues. In the 70s, AC Arles achieved promotion to Ligue 2 and in both 1970 and 1973, the team reached the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France.
Following three consecutive promotions in three seasons, AC Arles-Avignon achieved a fourth promotion in 2009 to Ligue 2 and in the following season, AC Arles-Avignon achieved promotion to Ligue 1 for the 2010/11 season Arles Avignon News
