About Grenoble Foot 38

Grenoble (also known as Grenoble Foot 38 or GF38) is a professional French football club based in Grenoble, France and competes in the second level of the French football league system. The club colors are white and blue and the team's home matches are held at the Stade des Alpes stadium which has the capacity of 20,068 spectators.

Grenoble was founded in 1892 as Football Club de Grenoble. When Norcap Olympique and Olympique Grenoble Isere merged in 1997 it led to the Grenoble Foot 38 incarnation. Grenoble was acquired in 2004 by a Japanes enterprise which built it the new stadium which is now used by the team and in 2008, Grenoble achieved promotion to Ligue 1 for the 2008/09 season. Grenoble had a hard time in Ligue 1 and was relegated down by the end of that season.
