About Ecuador
Ecuador's national football team represents Ecuador in association football competitions vs. foreign national football teams. Ecuador's national football team holds its matches at the Estadio OlĂmpico Atahualpa stadium, a multi-purpose stadium in Quito, Ecuador. This stadium has a capacity of 40,948 seated spectators and is currently used mostly for football matches. The team often plays its home matches in other national stadiums as well as in the USA.
Since Ecuador's national football team was established it had to struggle very hard to achieve little success. It was only in 2006 when the team advanced to the Round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup before being eliminated by England. Ecuador's national football team has never won the Copa America. The team's best achievement in the Copa America was in 1993 when Ecuador's national football team finished in the fourth place.
