Venezuela's national football team (also known as La Vinotinto) represents Venezuela in association football competitions vs. foreign national football teams. The national football team holds its official home matches at one of two stadiums; the Estadio Jose Antonio Anzoategui stadium in Puerto La Cruz or the Centro Total de Entretenimiento Cachamay stadium in Puerto Ordaz. Non official matches (friendly matches) may be held in other stadiums in Venezuela.
Venezuela's national football team is the only national team in the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) which has never qualified for a World Cup. In fact, it is not uncommon for Venezuela's national football team to compete through entire qualification tournaments without achieving a single win. Venezuela's national football team highest finish in Copa America was reaching the 5th place in 1967.
