Brazil's national football team (also known as Verde-Amarela, El Scratch, Canarinho and A Selecao) represents Brazil in association football competitions vs. foreign national football teams. The Brazilian team doesn't have a national stadium as its home stadium and therefore the team holds its home matches at various stadiums such as, the Mineirao stadium in Belo Horizonte, Estadio Mane Garrincha stadium in the capital Brasília, Estadio Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre, Estadio do Maracana and Estadio Olímpico Joao Havelange in Rio de Janeiro, the Estadio do Morumbi and Estadio do Pacaembu in Sao Paulo.
Brazil's national football team is one of the most successful national teams with more than 4 FIFA World Cup wins, three FIFA Confederations Cup titles and more than seven Copa America titles. Brazil's national football team is the only team that have qualified and played in every World Cup tournament. It was between 1978 and 1994 that the Brazilian team went through 24 years without winning a World Cup or even participating in a World Cup final.
In 1994, Brazil's national football team won the FIFA World Cup for the 4th time in its history and this was the beginning of a new era of dominance for the team. 8 years later, the team won the FIFA World Cup for the fifth time in 2002. Two years later, Brazil won the 2004 Copa America championship again and a year later, Brazil won the Confederations Cup for the second time in its history in 2005.
