About West Bromwich
West Bromwich (also known as West Bromwich Albion Football Club, West Brom, Albion, The Baggies, The Albion, The Throstles, The Baggies, West Bromwich FC or WBA) is a professional English football club based in West Bromwich, England. West Bromwich was founded in 1878 and was one of the founding members of The Football League in 1888. West Bromwich has spent the majority of its existence in the top tier of English football. The team have played in blue and white stripes for most of its history.
In 1995, West Bromwich's experienced its longest and deepest decline when relegated in the 1985/86 and remaining outside the top flight for next 16 years; five years later, West Bromwich was relegated to the Third Division for the first time in the club's history.
In the 1999/2000 season, West Bromwich was promoted to Division One; one year later, the team was promoted to the Premier League but this promotion has not lasted for long. West Bromwich was relegated again in the 2001/02 season and not surprisingly was promoted back to the Premier League in the following 2003/04 season.
The 2008/09 was the club's fourth season in the Premier League since 2002. West Bromwich was relegated to the second tier at the end of that season but won promotion back to the Premier League for the 2010/11 season. West Bromwich News
