About Parma FC

Parma (also known as Parma FC, Parma F.C, Parma Football Club, Parma Associazione Calcio, Ducali, Crociati and Gialloblu) is an Italian football team. Parma is based in Emilia Romagna, Italy, Parma plays its home matches in the Stadio Ennio Tardini which has about 28,000 seats. Parma plays in the top level Division of Italian football, the Serie A. Since Parma was founded in 1913, Parma experienced many ups and downs in its history before estbalishing itself as a top flight team in 1990 and onward.

It was in 1973 when Parma fought it's way up from Serie D to Serie B and remaining there for 3 seasons until relegated to Serie C in 1976. Parma stayed in Serie C until being promoted to Serie B in the 1978/79 season. Parma remained in Serie B for only one season, in 1980 Parma was playing in Serie C for 4 more years. It was in 1984 when Parma enjoyed a promotion to Serie B, yet it was not long before Parma was relegated again to Serie C. Parma has returned to Serie B in the 1986/87 season and finally managed to stay away from relegation.

In 1990, Parma was promoted to Serie A for the first time in its history and this was the first sign of Parma's golden era. Parma ended its first season in Serie A at the 6th place and was qualified for the UEFA Cup. In the 1992/93 season, Parma won the Cup Winners Cup, this was the first international trophy Parma has won. In the 1994/95 season, Parma won the UEFA Cup for the first time in its history. Parma won the UEFA Cup again in the 1998/99 season.

During the 2000's, Parma experienced several management changes as well as players transfers. Parma had several financial problems and was relegated back to Serie B in the 2007/08 season. In May 2009, Parma was promoted back to Serie A with just 2 games left to play and finished the season in the 2nd place.
