Olympiacos F.C. (also known as Τhrylos, Erythrolefki, Kokkini, Olympiacos Piraeus, Olympiacos C.F.P. or simply Olympiacos ) is a professional Greek football club based in Piraeus, Athens and plays in the highest division of Greek football; the Super League Greece. Olympiacos FC is one of the biggest and most popular football clubs in Greece; it is also one of only four teams that were never relegated from the first division.
Olympiacos is the most successful football club in Greek's history thanks to winning more than 36 league titles, over 23 Greek Cups and 3 Greek Super Cups. Olympiacos holds its home matches at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus which is capable of hosting 33,334 spectators.
Olympiacos was founded in 1925 by the fusion of two local clubs and enjoyed instant success that lasted until the late 1980s when Olympiacos was left deep in debt by its recent owner and as a result, Olympiacos had nine seasons without winning any league title until recovering in 1996.
