About Salzburg
FC Salzburg (also known as FC Red Bull Salzburg or Die Bullen) is a professional Austrian football club. FC Red Bull Salzburg was founded in 1933 as SV Austria Salzburg but its official name was changed several times in its history. In 2005, FC Salzburg was bought by the Red Bull company and its name was changed to FC Red Bull Salzburg.
FC Salzburg holds its home matches at the 31,895 spectators' capacity Red Bull Arena (formerly known as Wals-Siezenheim stadium). Prior to being acquired by the Red Bull company, FC Salzburg's club colors were violet and white but now the teams plays in red and white.
FC Salzburg won the T-Mobile Bundesliga in the 2006/07 season and also reached the UEFA Champions League qualifying round where the team was eliminated by Shakhtar Donetsk. Salzburg News
