AFC Ajax (also known as Ajax Amsterdam or just Ajax) is a professional football club from Holland . AFC Ajax is one of 3 clubs that are in the Dutch national football league , the other two are PSV and Feyenoord.
AFC Ajax football club was founded on 18/03/1900 and is one of the biggest clubs in Europe. After beeing accepted into Dutch Football , it took them 10 seasons in the Holland's 2nd division before being promoted for the 1911 season. The move to the 1st division did not last long though as onlyt 3 seasons later the club was relegated for the first time in its great history.
The turning point for the club was the arrival o thier new trainer Jack Reynolds . Under the leadership of this experienced coach , AFC Ajax won their 1st National Championship in the early ninetees. Since then , AFC Ajax always came close to the top of the Dutch table.
AFC Ajax is known as one of the best football clubs all over the universe. AFC Ajax was the 7th most successful club in Europe during the twentieth century. AFC Ajax football club is one of 5 teams that have managed to keep the European Cup and to get the multiple-winner badge. In the early nineteen seventies they won the Dutch Eredivisie, KNVB , and the European Cup. Up till now they are the only team that has managed to keep the European Cup and succeed in accomplishing the European treble. AFC Ajax's last international trophies were the Intercontinental Cup and Champions League Cup which they won in 1995. At the final game Milan lost. Milan lost the Champions League in nineteen ninety six final game due to penalties to Juventus.
They are also one of 3 teams that have won the treble and Intercontinental Cup during the same season.AFC Ajax achieved that during the 1971-72 season.AFC Ajax, Juventus and Bayern Munich are the three clubs to have won all three major UEFA club competitions. They have also won the Intercontinental Cup more than once, the 1991–92 UEFA Cup, and the Karl Rappan Cup.
