About Le Mans
LeMans Union Club 72 (also known as Le Mans, LeMans, Le Mans FC or MUC 72) is a professional French football club, based in Le Mans. The club was originally founded in 1903 and was very successful until the First World War. The team then plunged into obscurity by World War II.
In 1985, a merger between Stade Olympique du Maine and Union Sportive du Mans reformed as Lemans FC. Lemans gained promotion to Ligue 1 for the 2003/04 season and relegated shortly afterwards. LeMans struggled and achieved promotion back in 2005 and since then, the team retained its place in the top flight. Lemans finished 11th in 2006, 12th in 2007 and 9th in 2008. Le Mans News
