About OGC Nice
OGC Nice (also known as Nice, Les Aiglons, Le Gym, I'OGCN or Olympique Gymnaste Club Nice Cote d'Azur) is a professional French football club based in Nice which plays in France's highest football division; Ligue 1. OGC Nice was formed 1904 by the name of Nice Gymnast; 20 years later in 1924, The club was renamed as Olympique gymnast club Nice.
In 1997, OGC Nice won the Coupe de France but still it wasn't enough for the team to avoid relegation to Ligue 2 at the end of that season and remain in Ligue 2 for five seasons before achieving promotion back to Ligue 1 for the 2001/02 season.
After OGC Nice's promotion back to Ligue 1, the team managed to rank among the top spots of the table but eventually the club finished disappointingly in 10th place. In the following seasons, OGC Nice performed in the same manner. It was only in 2006 when the team made it to the Coupe de la Ligue's final and finish in the mid-table. 2007 was more difficult for OGC Nice and the team finished at the 16th place, 4 points above relegation.
OGC Nice begun the 2007/08 season with some success and achieved the top 5 places in the table but dropped down to the 8th place towards the end of the season. In the following season, OGC Nice had again success at first but finished in the 9th place. OGC Nice News
