About Everton FC

Everton FC (also known as Everton Football Club, The Toffees, The Blues, The School of Science, The People's Club or simply Everton) is a professional English football club based in Liverpool and played in the highest division of English football; the Premier League. Everton's home matches are held at the Goodison Park stadium in Liverpool since its completion in 1892.

Everton FC was founded in 1878 and since then competed in the top-flight for more than 106 seasons and won the league championship more than 8 times. The team has played in the top division since 1954 and was among the founding members of the Premier league in 1992.

In 1994, Everton FC won the FA Cup for the fifth time in its history after beating Manchester United 1–0 in the final. In the following 1995/96 season, the team finished the Premiership in the 6th place. Everton FC was not that successful in the following seasons and for several seasons finished at the bottom half of the table.

Although in the 2002/03 season Everton FC finished at the 7th place, the team didn't stabilize and bounced from finishing between the 17th place and the 4th places in the following seasons.

In the 2006/07 and 1007/08 seasons, Everton finished the league in the 6th and 5th place and achieved the UEFA Cup qualification. In the 2008/09 season, Everton finished in the 5th place for the second year in a row and the team reached the FA Cup final.
