About UEFA Europa League The Europa League (also known as UEFA Europa League and formerly known as the UEFA Cup) is an annual football cup competition for football clubs in Europe. The Europa League is the second most prestigious European football competition after the UEFA Champions League. The qualifying of football teams for the Europa league competition depends on their performance and achievements in their national leagues and cup competitions. Europa League winners keep the trophy for a year before returning it to UEFA. However, after the trophy is returned, the winning club is allowed to keep a 4/5 scale replica of the original trophy.
