About Bundesliga The Bundesliga consists of the top German football clubs. The Bundesliga is one of Europe's top five football leagues. In term of the German league system, the Bundesliga which was formed in 1963 is considered as the highest level of the German league. The Budesliga uses the old German system of promotion and relegation of football teams: The bottom two finishing teams in the Bundesliga are relegated automatically to the second Budesliga while the top two finishing teams in the second Bundesliga are replacing them The third of the bottom three finishing teams in the Bundesliga will play a 2-legged match against the team who finished in the top third place in the second bundesliga. The winning team will play in the budesliga within the following season. The bundesliga season begins in august and end at the end of May, during the bundesliga season there's a six weeks long winter break between the middle of December and the end of January.
